Green Man danced on Sunday 18 February 2007 at the Eucharist Service at St. Barnabas Church, High Street, Erdington. This event was to commemorate the forthcoming retirement of Father Peter Spencer, the Rector.

Green Man used to practice in one of the church rooms on Tuesday nights and two of Father Peter's sons are members of the side. Bob Bailes gave a short speech about the Green Man and we danced Sherriff's Ride from Lichfield and The Valentine after the style of Fieldtown. We also used Winster and Wheatley Processional dances to enter and exit respectively. A 9 minute video of the event is available here but you must have broadband to view it as the file is 34MB! Very sadly, towards the end of 2007 the church caught fire leading to extensive damage. The church is undergoing rebuilding at this time.
